Along the former Riga - Vidzeme tract there were numerous manor houses and one of them was Small Smerlis manor. It has not been preserved.

History of this manor started when in 1769 from Big Smerlis manor there was separated the former land of farmer Balku Toms and here was estaliched Small Smerlis - small manor with tavern. Riga householder Shitz obtained it and this manor belonged to his family up to 1828. Inn keeper was some Latvian. Manor has also small garden, some arable land and area in the overgrown Smerlis swamp.

J.C.Brotze has shown a very simple building.

In the area of former manor in 19th century there was operating Schwabe factory of ropes.
